Prepare and Execute a Communication Strategy. This is crucial to employees and clients alike. Delegate who will communicate to coworkers, who will contact insurance, and who will update clients, and whether this will be by phone call, text message, or email.
Protect Electronic Data. In the digital age, the majority of business transactions are conducted electronically. This makes it crucial to back-up and save all important information because electronics are especially susceptible to damage during natural disasters. If possible, keep paper copies of the most important files stored in durable waterproof containers. Then, utilize the internet for the rest of your crucial information. Google drive is an excellent resource for uploading and saving files which can be accessed from any internet-enabled device and shared among coworkers. Update these backups as frequently as possible.
